University of Nebraska Omaha

April 26

Experts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha will conduct hands-on workshops for families. Topics range from math magic to geology. Be sure to register for each workshop that you are interested in.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there also will be free, multiple hands-on stations presented by the College of Education in an expo style event in Roskens Hall. Students can rotate through a variety of hands-on activities such as launching a straw rocket, creating a balsa wood plane to take home, and playing with different types of robots. No registration is required for the Roskins Hall event.

Parking is free in any lot at UNO’s campus. Families enrolled in multiple workshops may want to bring a sack lunch as UNO Dining Services are closed on the weekend. There will be a central registration station located in the Milo Bail Student Center at the Fireside Lounge from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Volunteers will help you find where your workshop is located and answer any questions you have about the event.
