Metropolitan Community College

April 26 | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Fort Omaha Campus:
MCC’s Horticulture, Land Systems and Management (HLSM) will have guided tours through the working greenhouse, gardens and farmyard. Visitors will learn more about plants and how they work, see the different methods in which plants are grown both inside and outside, and learn about aquaponics systems: how they work and how they are beneficial to humans, fish and plants. Hands-on activities will include microgreens for taste testing, garden planting and aquaponic demonstrations and water testing.

South Omaha Campus:
Learn more about trauma emergencies/immobilization and cardiac emergencies at the South Omaha Campus. The Fire Science Technology Program will have an aerial truck on display, as well as extrication equipment. See how the “Jaws of Life” are used and ask questions about fire and life safety.

Science is best learned hands-on so visitors also will be able to participate in a variety of activities for all ages that are related to chemistry, biology and physics.
